Issues of Public and Private:
Having to sign endless forms and documentation disclaimers when entering in to the London Transport Museum library was a bizarre process. This particular institution gives a first impression of it being ‘open’ for public use and anyone if they want to, can access it and enter it (as long as a booking is made before hand). Yet when we entered this space we were confronted with these disclaimers about the dissemination of what we documented and that we are not able to represent it. Not only this we were not able to take photographs of the space for that reason. It was an extraordinary change and comparison to the British Museum where I had been 15mintues before. It seemed to highlight these issues of ownership, even when it meant for the ‘public’ domain.
Having taken this photo, I had to sign another form and write a full description of want I had taken a picture of.
